The "two Latinas" and Mr. Steele

Coffee with Michael Steele

Tuesday - April 28, Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele and members of his Coalition Team were in Irving for Coffee and a Speech with invited guests!

Chairman Steele is traveling around the country so he can get a "good view" of Republican grassroot efforts and activities. The new Coalition Team is the at the forefront of RNC grassroot efforts and will assist state and local parties and clubs. He wants to build the party from the bottom up -- "no more cookiecutter efforts!" Each state will have different goals and agendas that fit their political climate.

Chairman Steele commented on Texas Tea Parties: "There is nothing like a Texas Tea Party! We Republicans actually do give a damn about what is happening to our country. We have a unique role - all of our past will stand for the future."

Chairman Steele also commented on Senator Arlen Specter: "We made a mistake supporting Specter." Then a question was asked from the crowd: "Can we get our money back?" To which Steele replied, "Believe me, I'm going to be asking the brother for a check." Steele went on to say that Specter showed contempt for Republicans in his decision; it's rude. And that Party leadership will not let folks get away with just pretending to be a part of the Republican Party.

He asked that we all quit finger-pointing and be proud to be a Republicans!

"Our charge is to promote the value of life, family, individual responsibility versus those who want to redistribute wealth. It is no time for Republicans to go in a different direction. Our goal is to go to the neighborhoods; share that we are Republicans. It is time for us to put our best face forward. What are we ashamed of? We should welcome folks to the Republican Party, share what distinguishes Republicans and stand on our core values. Use our strength here in our own backyard. Empower our State Party through fundraising. Spread the message; don't prejudge new people who come in. Listen to voters; honor our contract. Brand the Party! Republicans have let Democrats define us. We should support our candidates and our Party. Find a forum for debate and sharing our ideas, telling our stories of self-empowerment."

He recognized the first online Republican Women's Club in the nation CCRWO.org Lisa Carter created the site and she resides in Collin County. He asked us to support all Conservative mediums of information.

He also thanked and recognized "the two Latinas for their efforts". Adryana and I spoke with Mr. Steele, before his speech, about our Hispanic Community Outreach goals with great passion and asked him to support our efforts which he kindly said he would and so would the Coalition Team. Adryana acknowledged him...unfortunately I had left a tad early and missed out on the Shout Out!

He asked us all to galvanize new Republicans, take to the streets, be a voice! Most importantly he said for us to FOCUS on our candidates and help TRAIN them! Fight on principles!

I believe we should band together and support our Chairman! We should stick to our agenda of educating and including instead of targeting and confusing like the Democrats! We need to welcome new members and welcome back those who have strayed with a big banner that says: My Party IS your Party!

Chairman Steele on Senator Arlen Specter's Decision to Switch to the Democratic Party

Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Steele released the following statement:

"Some in the Republican Party are happy about this. I am not. Let's be honest-Senator Specter didn't leave the GOP based on principles of any kind. He left to further his personal political interests because he knew that he was going to lose a Republican primary due to his left-wing voting record. Republicans look forward to beating Sen. Specter in 2010, assuming the Democrats don't do it first."

Michael Steele's Coalition Speech

Hello Everyone,

I was lucky enough to attend Michael Steele's Coalition Speech yesterday. I am waiting for pictures from Reflections, the RNC photography group, so I can share my thoughts and photos from the event. I welcome anyone who attended to e-mail me so I can include their commentary and photos on the blog!

On another note, I'd like to thank everyone who attended the RNHA meeting last night. I know we will be successful in educating and including the Hispanic Communities in our political process and our Republican Principles!

I'm an Extremist - by Oliver North

April 17, 2009

According to the U.S. government, I am an extremist. I am a Christian and meet regularly with other Christians to study God's word. My faith convinces me the prophecies in the Holy Bible are true. I believe in the sanctity of human life, oppose abortion, and want to preserve marriage as the union of a man and a woman. I am a veteran with skills and knowledge derived from military training and combat. I own several firearms, and I frequently shoot them, buy ammunition, and consider efforts to infringe on my Second Amendment rights to be wrong and unconstitutional. I fervently support the sovereignty of the United States, and I am deeply concerned about our economy, increasingly higher taxes, illegal immigration, soaring unemployment, and actions by our government that will bury my children beneath a mountain of debt.

Apparently, all this makes me a "rightwing extremist." At least, that's what it says in the April 7 "Assessment" issued by the Office of Intelligence and Analysis at the Department of Homeland Security. The nine-page report, titled "Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment," is full of warnings about American citizens who share any part of my background or subscribe to the beliefs above. It is one of the most alarming documents produced by our government that I ever have read.
Evidently, neither you nor I ever was supposed to read this "Assessment." At the bottom of the cover page is a warning that it is "not to be released to the public, the media, or other personnel who do not have a valid need-to-know." We're Americans. We have a need to know what's going on in our government, especially in an administration that promised to be "transparent." A full copy of the report is posted at http://www.freedomalliance.org/.

A message to President Obama

A picture taken at a St Louis rally! I think it's pretty funny and appropriate for the times!

Tuesday, April 14, 2009

Enough!

Vice President Joe Biden said during the 2008 campaign that it is patriotic for Americans to pay more in taxes. Since taking over control of Washington, the Obama Democrats have decided we should all be more "patriotic" having passed or proposed more than $5 trillion in new spending and $1.4 trillion in new taxes.
I don't know about you, but I don't believe there is anything patriotic about giving more of your hard-earned money to the government to bankroll the liberal Democrats' agenda to increase spending to record levels, change the tax code to redistribute the wealth of working families, and destroy the savings of millions of middle-class Americans.

So on this Tax Day, April 15, the Republican National Committee is asking you to assert a real patriotic act by sending a virtual tea bag to Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and the rest of the tax, spend and borrow Democrats. Let them know enough is enough and you don't approve of their plan to pass the largest tax hike in American history.

The $1.4 trillion in higher taxes is just the tip of the iceberg for the Democrats. The proposed cap and trade program on carbon emissions Obama wants would impose at least $646 billion in new energy taxes -- $3,100 for every American family a year. And the President wants to raise taxes on small businesses -- the very engine that provides 75% of our economic growth.

Americans will pay more in taxes this year than they will spend on food, clothing and housing combined and it is still not enough for Barack Obama and the liberal Democrats. Let them know you already pay enough in taxes by sending them a virtual tea bag by clicking here. And when you do, please also make a secure online contribution of $25, $50, $100, $500 or $1,000 to the RNC today to fight the Democrats' efforts to take advantage of America's present economic difficulties to force through their reckless agenda.

Your participation in this project is vital to holding the Obama Democrats accountable for their destructive higher tax and spending policies. Please send your virtual tea bag today. Thank you.

Sincerely,
Michael Steele

Taxes and Tea Parties: America Gets Ready to Rumble

by Bobby Eberle, GOPUSA April 13, 2009

This week, Americans will not only be rushing to the post office to pay their taxes, but they will also be sending a message to Barack Obama and the left-wing elite in Washington that enough is enough. April 15th marks the day that people from across the country will gather for the Tax Day Tea Parties -- a protest movement against the out of control spending in Washington and the increased taxes that will pay for it.
Despite the fact that numerous tea party protests have already occurred, resulting in tens of thousands of protesters taking to the streets, the media have provide little coverage. As usual, if there is a voice, op-ed, or movement that doesn't trumpet the socialist agenda of Barack Obama, it will be glossed over by the media. Thus, our mission is simple... It is up to all of us to send a message that is too loud to ignore.
GOPUSA is proud to be one of the sponsors of the Tax Day Tea Party protests. As noted by Eric Odom, Chairman of the DontGo Movement and one of the primary organizers of the protests, "Building on the free market ideas of our founding fathers, and embracing the passion they shared to bring them to light, the Nationwide Tea Party Movement is giving voice to tens of thousands of Americans."

Bow or Curtsy?

If Not A Bow, Then A Curtsy
By Oliver North
GOPUSA, April 10, 2009

The traveling, never-ending campaign roadshow came home this week. The president of the United States is back in Washington from his "I like you, you like me" excellent adventure in Europe and "surprise" trip to Baghdad. It was nice of POTUS to thank the troops. He should have bowed to them instead of to King Abdullah.

Members of the O-Team -- recovering from late-night teleprompter edits, grand parties and jet lag -- now deny that the apparently obsequious gesture to the Saudi king was really a "bow." Perhaps it would be better described as a "curtsy."

Whatever it was -- the Arab press applauded the moment as servile -- it was keeping with the administration's "apologize for America first" message. Given what else happened this week, the incident may turn out to be as trivial as giving the queen of England a Chinese-made iPod as a gift from the American people.

Why I am a Republican by Hector Casanova

WHY I AM A REPUBLICAN:

The security of our nation is of utmost importance. We must win the war on terrorism at home and anywhere they [those who mean us harm] train and hide. Our Armed Forces must remain well funded, well equipped, and at the proper strength.

Our homeland must be secured, to include our borders, our water supply, power plants, airspace, and harbors. Immigration needs to continue in an orderly and secured fashion.
I fully support the implementation of a National ID Card.

I am 100% PRO-Life. I do not support any abortion options and support an amendment to make abortion illegal in our country. Likewise, I do not believe in stem cell research.

I believe that strong family values and ties are the foundation of productive and law abiding citizens.

I am also a supporter of the line-item veto and of the establishment of term limits for ALL of our elected officials. A 2-term limit will do away with professional politicians and reduce the influence of lobbyists.

I believe marriage is the union between a man and a woman. Period!

Taxes must be fair, equal, and easy to understand. Everyone should be able to read and comprehend the tax codes. Tax funds should belong to the American people and should not be wasted. Pork equals corruption.

While I support the separation of Church and State, I am a devoted and practicing Christian.

I support ALL of our Constitution. I believe our forefathers placed the second amendment on our Bill of Rights in case politicians tried to ignore our other rights.

While I believe that it is a blessing for an individual to be bilingual, it is a curse for any society to be bilingual. Likewise, I oppose dual citizenships as it promotes divided loyalties.

The only “ism” that I can embrace is Capitalism. The government does not need to regulate and control our lives and economy. The free enterprise system and open competition is our best regulator. The American Dream is within reach to every one of our citizens and America is still the land of opportunity.

Despite the false labeling, innuendo, outright fabrications and lies, the Republican Party is the party of the optimist, the self-starter, and of men and women who believe America’s best days are still ahead….not behind!

Welcome
