To Congressman Doggett (D from Austin),
May I say respectfully, Congressman Doggett, that "wanting a seat at the table" is the most cowardly, hypocritical excuse for voting for this outrage today.
I don't live in your district, but I will certainly work for your defeat next year. You have betrayed Texas and every citizen in the whole country. Next time, just stand up like a man and say that you are more afraid of your party leadership than you are of your constituents.
Sincerely,
Marilyn Davis
I've already received an automated reply saying that since I live outside his district, "regrettably Cong. Doggett can't reply." What could he say to justify himself, anyway?
