Texas Gov. Perry Breaks Collarbone While Biking
Texas Governor Rick Perry broke his collarbone on Tuesday evening, his press office said in a statement.

Texas Governor Rick Perry broke his collarbone on Tuesday evening, his press office said in a statement. "At approximately 7:30 pm tonight Gov. Perry broke his right collarbone and received a minor abrasion to his right elbow due to a mountain biking accident near his residence," a written statement read. The governor was taken to the emergency room at Seton Medical Center in Austin where he is currently being treated and is scheduled to be released later tonight. No other information concerning the circumstances of the accident was immediately available.

WASHINGTON - Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Steele released the following statement today:
“Today, the White House confirmed that the Democrat economic stimulus bill is simply not creating the jobs President Obama promised. Simply put, the White House spin doesn’t square with reality. Since President Obama signed the so-called ‘stimulus’ package, 1.5 million Americans have lost their jobs making the unemployment rate soar to a 26 year high. Families today are struggling to pay their bills, make their mortgage payments, and send their kids to college. Republicans want to work with the president to get our economy back on track, but the president seems intent on promoting and adopting some of the most liberal and reckless government intervention economic policies we have ever seen.”

I am pleased that President Obama will be representing the United States in Normandy on this historic day in order to recognize the Americans who gave their lives so others could realize freedom. America truly is the home of the brave, and this important day in history reminds all of us of the sacrifices made by American service members and their families, of all generations, to keep America free.”

The U.S. Department of Justice seal bears a Latin phrase: "Qui Pro Domina Justitia Sequitur." The motto refers to the attorney general, "who prosecutes on behalf of Lady Justice." But under President Barack Obama's politically corrupt DOJ, Lady Justice is getting the shaft.
To wit: Let's examine the uproar over Attorney General Eric Holder's decision to protect hate-mongering thugs who harassed and bullied precinct workers and voters on Election Day in Philadelphia.
Oh, wait. There's been no uproar. Let me tell you why.

GM Has Chance to 'Rise Again' Under Restructuring, Obama Says
GM's reorganization plan will rely on up to $30 billion of additional financial assistance from the Treasury Department.

President Obama said Monday that the federal government wants to fix General Motors quickly and then get out of the auto business, as the Detroit legend filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and the government prepared to pump another $30 billion into the company. "Our goal is to help GM get back on its feet ... and get out quickly," Obama said.
The president defended the White House-engineered restructuring plan and the additional government investment just hours after the troubled automaker filed for bankruptcy in New York. Though critics of the plan worried that the administration had no exit plan for its intervention, Obama said the government would act as "reluctant shareholders" and that he has "no interest" in running GM. He said the proceedings, though painful for all stakeholders, would "mark the end of an old GM and the beginning of a new GM." "What we have then is a credible plan that is full of promise," Obama said. He called the restructuring a "viable, achievable plan that will give this iconic American company a chance to rise again."
GM's bankruptcy filing is the fourth-largest in U.S. history and the largest for an industrial company. The company said it has $172.81 billion in debt and $82.29 billion in assets. Under the plan, GM would eventually have 50 percent fewer liabilities and far fewer product lines. The $30 billion government infusion is on top of about $20 billion in taxpayer money GM already has received in the form of low-interest loans. Obama assured consumers looking to purchase GM vehicles that their warranties would be safe and government-backed. He defended the government intervention as essential, linking the health of the auto giant to the health of the U.S. economy.
And he defended the government's decision to take such a large ownership stake in the company -- estimated at 60 percent.
